Events Chair

Qualifications

  • A general knowledge of the Hoofer philosophy and of the individual Hoofer clubs and a desire to learn more about the clubs and the Wisconsin Union.
  • A general knowledge of program planning or the desire to learn.

  Hoofer Council Events Chair Duties 

  • Mandatory attendance at all Hoofer Council Meetings.
  • Mandatory attendance at Hoofer Council Fall and Spring Retreats.
  • Attendance at the WUD Fall retreat is encouraged. 
  • Provide support to affiliated clubs or members wishing to host either free or paid events.
  • Assistant the Vice President of Programs in the coordination of the following:
    • All-Hoofer work parties and socials
    • Fall and Spring All-Hoofer Kickoffs
    • Hoofers presence at the Fall and Spring Student Organization Fair
    • Hoofers activities at the All Campus Party
  • Coordinate and recruit volunteers for the following All-Hoofer events:
    • Winter Carnival
    • Hoofers Haunted Halloween
    • Hoofers Extravaganza
    • Memorial Union and Union South Bash
    • Other Hoofer-wide and/or public events.

  Benefits

  • Resume builder – Coordinate campus events for one of the best known student organizations on campus.
  • Hoofer Council members receive free memberships in all clubs during their term of office after having paid the General Activity fee. 

  Accountability

  • All Hoofer Council members abide by Wisconsin Union policies and the Hoofer Council Constitution.
  • The Hoofer Council Events Chair is accountable to all Hoofer clubs officers and general members.
  • The Hoofer Council Events Chair reports to Hoofer Council and is accountable to all Hoofer Clubs, general members and Hoofer Club officers.

  Time Commitment

  • Meeting times weekly:                  3-4 hours
  • Projects / planning monthly          8 hours

  TOTAL TIME PER WEEK                 10 HOURS average
