Hoofer Council Meeting Minutes for the meeting on 06-19-09
Location: Hoofers Lower Office

Meeting's agenda: approved.

Club Updates:
SNS- treasurer working on end of the year finances
Riding- shows, de-worming, & feeding
Mountaineering- climbing
Sailing- Pirate's Day
Outing- boat (stolen?) recovered/found
Scuba- still needs club rep

WUD:
- money may not be granted next year
- advisors affected with hiring freeze, maybe stretched
- OPO will be taking a budget cut; means we may have to pay sooner and possibly more for office equipment
- clubs not likely to be affected

Fishing Club:
- possibly adding a 7th hoofer club
- will have a meeting next week with a committee to decide the details
- under Outing or a new club?
- Council may offer them a loan to start up a new club if they decide they want to do this

Finances:
- council budget increasing with increase in revenue
- ideas: monitor for Hoofer Events, electronic kiosk
- end-of-the-year corrections; treasurers, make sure your exec boards are reviewing these

Terrace Fest wrap-up/review:
- great prep work done by Billy!
- communication- could have done better, improve for MU bash
- some things missing, smoothe though
- biggest problem: crappy weather

Club Finances:
- Riding: looking to break even
- SNS: trying to get into the red
- Sailing: surplus due to lots of recent memberships; looking to spend money creatively or on repairs
- Scuba: still in the black

Club Spotlight:
Sailing
- only 3 boats sank
- over 1100 members + youth program
- keelboats, dingies, windsurfing, snowkiting
- team sailing nationally ranked
Riding
- 14 club-owned horses
- lease a farm off campus in Bellville and have 40 acres
- all English style riding
- youth camps
- team riding nationally ranked

To-Do's:
Drew- committee meeting with sales presentation; graphic order for the banners
Austin- show up at meeting, keep in contact with the treasurer
Brittney- plaques
Matt- Pirate's Day, meeting on budget surplus, board organization
Paul- complete half of to-do list
Jen- keep in contact with trearsurers, learn about WUD $
Justin- club database work for sailing lessons, get a council website
Sarah- show horse, re-do constitution and employees
