Club updates:



Sailing:

The sailing club no longer has a secretary or keelboat captains. Matt is looking at appointing a heavy keelboat captain as well as a light keelboat representative. The sailing club finances are in the black - primarily due to great membership. The only part of the sailing club that is in the red is the keelboats...

NOTE: Paul Penkalski has a restraining order on any Union property and from contacting any Union officers via phone, email, or in person. Sidewalks are not Union property.



Scuba:

scuba stuff (no rep)



Outing:

lessons (rep not present)



Mountaineering:

probably climbing (rep not present)



Riding:

out with the horses (rep not present)



Ski & Snowboard:

probably not skiing... or snowboarding (rep not present)



Presidents Report:

Paul is spending his time picking out furniture for Union South.



Finance Report:

We bought a bunch of stuff! 2 computers, new president’s desk, webcams, assorted office supplies, and hopefully wiped out Council's debt :)



Programs Report:

MU Bash update - MU Bash is Sunday, August 30th at 8pm

Sailing will be hosting night sailing - they need volunteers

Mountaineering will be doing the climbing wall

Outing may be doing moonlight canoeing (this needs to be confirmed)

NOTE: ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS MUST BE PRESENT AT THIS EVENT

**CLUB REPS we need volunteers from each club to man info tables for MU Bash.



Marketing update:

Drew has been attending SOAR to reach incoming freshman. He attended only two days so far but has gotten 100 emails. Would clubs be interested in pitching in to get display marketing for events like SOAR?

Paul – “Motion to allow Drew to create official Hoofer Twitter page and use hoofer logo and name so long as control of content and  Twitter account existence is maintained by Hoofer Council

Retreat update:

RETREAT IS AUGUST 28th -30th. ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE PRESENT.

We will be leaving no sooner than noon on Friday. It was decided that Hoofer club presidents and potential leaders from each club, selected by club presidents, will be invited to attend.

Anyone interested in presenting? Any council member who would like to present should let Paul or Mindy know by the end of July.

Food ideas? We really only have a campfire to work with so let Mindy know of any ideas you may have, AS WELL AS ANY VEGETARIANS OUT THERE OR ANY FOOD ALLERGIES ASAP.
