Club Updates (Club Reps):

Outing:  Website halfway back up- don’t have calendar yet, but do have events that are available for signup. 

Riding:  Banquet on Friday, started a new de-worming program.  Horses’ poo will be tested to determine which ones actually have worms to receive treatment.

Scuba:  Pumpkin Dive in October 22, Cozumel trip set to go on Jan 3-10.

Mountaineering:  Successful beginner clinic at Devil’s Lake.  Partnered with Outing to share gear and revelry.

SNS:  New website up and running.  Homecoming committee getting the wheels turning, and discussing the budget.

Sailing:  absent- on retreat.  New head of instruction Tom Barry.

President’s Report (Paul):

WUD VP-Programs Vacancy:

Announced last Wednesday that she would resign.  Application process is still being determined.

Expulsion/Suspension Policy to be voted on next time:

UW Legal has yet to review this draft due to busy schedules.  Paul will send out the draft for the next meeting.

Website Redo (Drew):

Goals of our new website:

We need the events to be updatable.  The idea is to have a spotlighted section for events or important information.  The current model features interactive tabs and buttons.  The option of online signup will be available.  The goal is to have a centralized site where you could get a feel for what is going on in Hoofers- possibly autosync the various club calendars.  Also, there could be a venue for advertising hoofer events/activities within hoofers.

Concept Demonstration of New Website:

Drew provided a tour of the new website.

Ideas/feedback for Drew:

Brittany- more pictures to complement the text

Erin- working on a hoofer video that could be featured

Brittany- will (club) trips signup be available?

Erin- larger, more legible text

Streamlined, cohesive travel between club pages

Slim line of buttons horizontally on the side but keep the changing backgrounds when scrolling across the different buttons.

Hoofers Haunted Halloween (Mindy):

Update on Events and Committee

They had the first committee meeting.  They are looking into a dunk tank and will be working with the WUD committee.  Mindy will be sending out an email to club reps that they should then forward to their club member lists.

Homecoming (Mindy):

What events we have planned for it

Oct 9th from 11-4 pm.  There will be a climbing wall.  Mindy wants to do a float.  Feedback?  Has been done previously with success.  Mindy met with Marc Kennedy and will be continuing to meet with him to take advantage of advertising and free programming opportunities.  There is interest in a float.  Yay!  Outing and Mountaineering will help supply belayers for the climbing wall.

All Hoofer Video (Erin):

Erin is making a rough draft of a script for an all hoofer video to be shown at events and kickoffs.  She will be sending it off to the clubs for input and feedback.

Closing Items (Council):

Next Council Dinner:

Volunteers?  Brittany will host dinner at her house at 6.  She will send out directions.

To Do’s:

Austin:  HHH Committee

Erin:  talk with film crew about HHH, write press releases, pricing strategy, work with Drew and Gina, and make sure Paul buys himself a new phone this week

Courtney:  continue researching and go to the HHH meeting

Mindy:  meet w/ homecoming to finalize kickoff, meet with Marc Kennedy, plan HHH mtg for Thursday

Billy:  help Mindy with HHH, talk to Brittany about Homecoming

Josh:  Send a logo to Paul that is child-friendly J and make sure outing’s gear is returned

Martin:  look into boat problems for boat that is sinking…

Sara:  ride.  Go to riding club banquet.

Kristin:  do slide show for the riding club banquet

Brittany:  show up to stuff like HHH and Council Meetings, and contact homecoming committee to get in registration

Andrew:  pay the deposit for the WFA course, make HHH mtg, talk to Paul

Caroline:  coordinate with Mindy and Josh for belayers

Drew:  do another draft of the website, set date for committee meeting, set up online survey for feedback

Gina:  pick up marketing for homecoming, work on HHH stuff, meet with Drew

Paul:  figure out what to present at conference, have president’s meeting and exec meeting

Jen:  set up a meeting with the treasurers to get them financially trained, talk to Jeff Greenberg and continue working with Erin on Group Pricing Strategies
