Jennifer Limbach (President) Platform
The hardest thing to explain to anyone outside of Hoofers is that it is six independent clubs. The hardest thing to explain to anyone in Hoofers is that it is one comprehensive organization. As VP-Finance this past year, I witnessed how recognition of this fact can benefit both the individual clubs and the organization as a whole. The past decade has contained some rocky patches of financial history for Hoofers, which negatively impacted our image. However, because of the hard work of the treasurers and council members in the past few years, this has begun to change, and Hoofers has been granted more credibility which has manifested itself in the large role we are being asked to play in the building of the new Union South. Now, when people realize that the work they put into budgeting has direct consequences for the present and future Hoofers organization, I’ve seen them put in even greater effort in their current leadership roles.
Because of the multiplied effects that Hoofer leaders can have when they realize the full impacts of their actions, my largest goal if I were to be elected Hoofer president would be to increase cross-club relations. To facilitate this, I would encourage more club participation in Council decisions through our chair committees as well as look for further opportunities on the Union South and future Memorial Union renovation projects. As a student finishing up my last requirements for graduation, I am confident that I have the time to commit to such goals. As someone who has spent the last year on the Hoofer Council Executive Board in the role of VP-Finance, I feel that I have a good background and experience that will serve me well in this position. And as a Hoofer member for the past three years, I know that I have the motivation to give back to the organization.
