Drew Kozlak (President) Platform
My name is Drew Kozlak, I am running for Hoofer President. This past year I have served as Marketing Chair to Council where I learned and represented the different elements of our clubs. In July, I was awarded Hoofer of the Month for my commitment to representing Hoofers at SOAR for all but a few sessions. I believe in participatory leadership and leading by example. I have lead discussions on merging OPO and ODR, invested my budget towards long term marketing mediums, drafted the design for www.hoofers.org, created and coordinated Hoofer Pig Roast for All Campus Party, spent 25+ hours on the Statue of Liberty, volunteered at multiple Resales and Rail Jam, and participated in major discussions. My focus for the year ahead prepares Hoofers for the Union Renovation and the growth associated with it. I plan to do so in 3 ways: furthering progress to merge OPO and ODR, opening communication of issues within council and Hoofers as a whole, and coordinating and drafting long-term direction for Hoofers. Absorbing ODR is paramount to the growth of Hoofers. The real estate inside the Union will one day not be enough, now is our opportunity to prepare for expansion. While council is responsible to support the clubs, it is important to appropriately communicate all matters of importance to council in a way that encourages participation. I plan to hold open exec meetings and issue written updates on important topics. I feel this will increase cross club communication and involvement in major projects. My platform exists on one assumption, Hoofers will grow and if nothing else, increased foot traffic will instigate it. This means plans for expansion of hoofer facilities; be it mooring pins or involvement in Union renovation. We need consistent direction throughout Hoofers to ensure all clubs survive and prosper.
