Renovation Chair

Purpose:

The Hoofer Council Renovation Chair was created to help the Vice President of Administration in the important task of planning for and the actual renovation of the Hoofers’ space in the Memorial Union Renovation. The specific duties of the Renovation Chair will be worked out each year with the current Vice President of Administration, but most likely will include being the point person to facilitate the internal communications, meetings, and planning needed to ensure the continued vibrancy of Hoofers as we transition into a new space.

Qualifications to be Hoofer Council Renovation Chair

  • A general knowledge of the Hoofer philosophy and of the individual Hoofer clubs; or more importantly a desire to learn more about the clubs and the Wisconsin Union.
  • University of Wisconsin Student Standing is preferred, but not required.
  • A general knowledge of AutoCAD, or other similar programs, or a desire and commitment to learn more about AutoCAD or similar programs.
  • Effective communication skills, experience with, or more importantly a desire to learn how to chair meetings

Hoofer Council Renovation Chair’s Duties

  • Attendance at all Council Meetings is mandatory for all voting members of Council.
  • Attendance at Hoofer Council Retreats is mandatory for all members of Council.
  • Five (5) hours of posted office hours per week.
  • Create, modify, or maintain a plan(s) for the Hoofer space during the Historic Restoration of the Memorial Union.
  • Work with Vice President of Administration for the planning for, and the restoration of the Hoofers space in Memorial Union Restoration.
  • When necessary chair a Renovation Committee or other meetings.
  • Work with the Hoofer Council Marketing and Development Chairs to provide updated information on the project as requested.
  • Serve on Wisconsin Union or University committees as requested by the Vice President of Administration and the Hoofer Council President.
  • Provide a weekly update of the status of the project.
  • Update and revise position description and position guide as appropriate.

Accountability

  • All Hoofer Council members abide by Wisconsin Union policies and the Hoofer Council Constitution.
  • The Hoofer Council Renovation Chair directly reports to the Hoofer Council Vice President of Administration.
  • The Hoofer Council Renovation Chair reports to Hoofer Council and is directly accountable to the Council President.
